| BED, a jazz group with an appealingly classic jazz sound, is made up of four close friends: vocalist Rebecca “Becky” Kilgore, guitarist/banjoist/vocalist “Fast Eddie” Erickson, trombonist Dan Barrett and bassist Joel Forbes have worked in many different groups over the years, both on stage and in recording studios. All four are well known to international jazz audiences through their jazz party and festival appearances, and many recordings for the Concord, Arbors, Nagel-Heyer, and Jump labels. |

BED was formed as so many groups are in the jazz world: an engagement came along! Becky, Eddie, and Dan (their initials form the humorous acronym that has become their group name) were invited to perform as a trio at the beginning of 2001 for an anniversary party of two jazz fans (and friends) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The band and its audience had such a terrific time at that party, Becky, Eddie, and Dan resolved to work together as much as their busy individual schedules would allow. Their decision to add a bassist to the ensemble enhances the group’s distinctive sound.

Things are happening fast for this group. Since that first engagement, BED has already appeared twice in concerts for the West Texas Jazz Society (in Odessa); the Central Florida Jazz Society (in Boca Raton); the Jazz Club of Sarasota, the Ascona Jazz Festival in Switzerland; the Jazz aux Remparts Festival in Bayonne; France; Swinging Jazz Party in Blackpool, England; Caesarea Festival in Israel; and Sweet & Hot in Los Angeles, to name some of the festivals. There have also been numerous jazz cruises and concert dates since the group announced its availabilty. They now tour world-wide and nation-wide for most of the year, bringing their swinging style and quick wit to happy audiences everywhere. BED has recently completed recording its third Compact Disc recording. These recordings feature the quartet’s popular repertoire of old and more recent popular songs, jazz numbers, and even a country or “Western Swing” tune thrown in for good measure.
